Using veneers expands the types of wood and designs that you can include in your projects. Many of the finest quality and exotic woods are only available as veneers. Veneers are thin slices of wood, approximately 1/32" in thickness. They are adhered to substrates of less expensive wood or medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Veneers can be arranged on the substrate to present the appearance of a finished board or to produce a variety of patterns. These patterns typically include:

Students in the class will: The techniques and skills will be applied to the making of a chess
board. Tuition: $450 and a materials fee estimated to be $75. It will be finalized at the end of class. Ten 4-hour sessions. A $50 deposit is required to confirm your reservation.
